Martin Luther at Worms
MLatWorms.jpg - 1264738 bytes

When Martin Luther was questioned about his commitment to his writings and beliefs at the Diet of Worms he was believed to have said: "Here I stand. I can do no other. God help me. Amen" As a result of this statement, he was declared a heretic and began his exile at Wartburg Castle.

I included this print because I enjoy the imagery of Martin Luther (balanced by the Catholic "establishment") depicted by the engraver / artist.
